Therapy and Eating Disorders
Help for Families and Loved Ones
Working with anyone who is trying to understand or help support a loved one with an eating disorder. Stop letting the eating disorder wreak havoc in your life and the life of your loved one.
When someone you care about has an eating disorder it can feel confusing, overwhelming, and scary.
Most people who start family therapy to help a loved one who has an eating disorder may be hesitant thinking somehow they have contributed or caused the eating disorder. There is nothing further from the truth. People who have eating disorders are genetically predisposed and you did not cause the eating disorder to form. Maybe you have just been in denial about the eating disorder and giving into diet culture norms and standards but we can explore this and help you learn and grow.
Maybe you feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells as you are constantly worrying about your loved one and feeling like you have somehow failed. Stuck in your head and feeling worried, or anxious all the time, you may feel like living with your loved one is exhausting and confusing.
