Get to know Michelle

My focus is to identify areas of stress, understand how it makes us think, feel, and behave; and ultimately a solution focused plan that makes changes to live the life you were meant to live.

My background covers a wide range from education to the impact trauma has on mental health. I spent over twenty years as an educator for all age groups. My main demographic while in education was with the English as a Second Language population and additionally at-risk students.

I quickly learned that it wasn’t just about helping the kids at school, but being involved with the complete family. It became clear that attaining a solid education was not possible for young people until they had attained a better mental health environment. I then moved into counseling for people with a history of traumatic events, substance abuse, and lack of a support system.

Today I find myself continuing to work with people that struggle with anxiety, trauma, and substance use difficulties. My focus is to identify areas of stress, understand how it makes us think, feel, and behave; and ultimately a solution focused plan that makes changes to live the life you were meant to live.
