My Journey To Becoming A Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
My own growth through personal life struggles is what helps me relate so deeply with clients.
Living life on life’s terms can be challenging and overwhelming. As a teenager and young adult, I used drugs and alcohol to cope with my feelings and my life, and in turn lost my identity. Therapy has been an integral part of my transformation into my authentic self, and I enjoy helping others discover their true selves. My life experiences are what lead me to become the counselor that I am today. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and seeing them take responsibility for their wellness.
How can I support you?
Feelings of shame or guilt often stop people from reaching out for help. My goal is to provide you with a comfortable space to talk about the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that trouble you. I believe everyone has their own lived experiences, some positive and some negative. I want to help you work through your negative experiences that are holding you back from feeling good about your life, while building off of your successes.
Working with individuals who are struggling with substance use, whether you are in the beginning stages of change or are in long-term recovery, is fulfilling to me. I know the darkness of being stuck in a cycle and feeling like there is no way out. There is support and help waiting for you. You can and deserve to live a fulfilled life, free from the constraints of drugs or alcohol.
Are you overwhelmed or stuck at a change point in your life? Going to college, switching careers, becoming a parent, ending a significant relationship, or discovering your true identity can be scary things to tackle on your own. I can help you sort through your thoughts and find some clarity.
