Guided by the principles of intention and compassion, my nutrition philosophy aims to empower individuals in developing a harmonious bond with food, emphasizing nourishment that enriches both the physical well-being and the mind.
Hello! I am a Registered Dietitian specializing in disordered eating. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate the complex landscape of eating disorders with empathy, expertise, and a holistic approach to healing.
Through my training and experience, I’ve come to understand that disordered eating is not just about food—it’s a deeply rooted and multifaceted issue that intertwines with mental and emotional well-being. With this knowledge, I strive to provide comprehensive care that addresses the underlying factors contributing to disordered eating patterns.
In my practice, I draw upon evidence-based strategies and personalized counseling to develop tailored treatment plans. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to disordered eating. Each person’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to understanding their individual needs, goals, and challenges.
Continual education and staying up-to-date with the latest research are essential to my practice. By collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and engaging in professional development, I ensure that I offer the most current and effective techniques to support my clients on their path to recovery.
With my guidance and unwavering support, I am dedicated to helping individuals with disordered eating rediscover their inner strength, embrace a healthier relationship with food, and cultivate a life of balance, freedom, and overall well-being.
I firmly believe that true health encompasses more than just numbers on a scale or rigid food rules. It is about nurturing a positive relationship with food and body, embracing intuitive eating, and fostering a balanced approach where all foods have a place within a healthy diet. By rejecting restrictive diets and embracing the concept of food freedom, I empower individuals to listen to their bodies, honor their cravings, and find joy in eating while still prioritizing nourishing choices that support overall well-being. This holistic perspective allows for a sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle that celebrates both physical and mental health.
Background: I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Florida State University. I then went on to complete my Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Florida. I matched with AdventHealth in Orlando where I completed my clinical dietetic internship, completing 1,216 supervised practice hours. During my internship, I provided nutrition education and counseling in various settings, including the gastroenterology, cardiac, oncology, neurology, vascular, and psychiatric units. I also spent time in the ICU managing enteral nutrition support for the critically ill. Working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, I actively participated in rounds, collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and speech pathologists.
With a strong educational foundation, extensive clinical experience, and a passion for promoting positive relationships with food, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact as a registered dietitian.
