Hi, I am Vernitta. I am passionate about integrating mind, body, and spirit into the healing process, my mission is to make a positive impact in the counseling field by providing professional, client-centered mental health services that honor the whole person. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and come from a proud Bahamian family heritage. I am a wife and devoted mother of two little boys. Beyond my professional work, I am creative at heart. I enjoy singing, songwriting, producing music, and exploring my artistic side. I also love spending time with family and friends, traveling, relaxing at the beach, and connecting with nature. I believe in the importance of truly knowing and understanding oneself to create a healthy, fulfilling life.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Barry University in Miami, Florida, as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
I am a certified Reiki Practitioner and a certified Spiritual Life Coach through the Dharma Coaching Institute and bring a compassionate, holistic perspective to my work. I have experience working with diverse populations, including youth and adolescents, adults, at-risk youth, and immigrants.
My therapeutic approach is flexible but often draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based techniques, with the goal of helping individuals find balance, clarity, and healing.
